Necessary Drywall Finishing Tools

As with almost any job that can be done around the home, there are going to be some specific drywall finishing tools that are necessary in order for you to do the job properly. This is not only true whenever it comes to using any mudding taping drywall tips that you may know, it is also true whenever you are simply putting the drywall in place. One of the best things about these particular tools is the fact that they are rather simplified, and it is not going to cost you a lot to be completely equipped. Here are some basic drywall finishing tools that you should not do without.

The first thing that I would recommend that you have when it comes to drywall finishing tools is a variety of putty knives. These are measured by inches, and I would recommend that you have everything from a 1 inch putty knife all the way up to a 6 inch knife. These can help you to take care of a variety of different types of jobs, all the way from a standard drywall installation down to a repair job that may be necessary from time to time. Using a larger knife will help you to be able to spread the drywall compound out properly. This will make it better for you whenever it comes to the sanding process.

Another thing that you should have is a set of larger finishing knives. These can help you with corner taping, as well as smoothing out any large areas where the sheets of drywall butt up against each other. I would like to share with you one of my favorite mudding taping drywall tips that I use whenever I am going to do larger areas such as this. Instead of using a lot of drywall compound at the start, I build it up quickly with several small layers. This helps me to get a more even flow to the joint compound, and it requires less sanding at the end.

One other tool that I would like to recommend is a drywall estimator. If you're going to be doing drywall jobs regularly, it would be a good idea for you to have one of these estimators available with you at all times. If you are just trying to get an overview of what is necessary to get a small job done around the house, you can use one of the online estimators that will give you a rough idea of the materials needed.

Although you certainly can choose additional drywall finishing tools, it is not always going to be necessary for you to do so. Some people are more comfortable with corner knives, although these are not always necessary to get the job done properly. You will, no doubt, come up with additional mudding taping drywall tips as you are going through these jobs on your own as well. Just make sure that you take your time and finish it off nicely from the start, it will make a difference in the finished product.
